Abstract
The purpose of this project was to educate the DNP-FNP on sports concussions, it was presented over a lunch and learn. There is a rise in an incident of sports concussions in high school athletes over the past ten years. Concussions among high school students are becoming more evident and serious. The number of sports concussions will continue to increase if the providers like Family Nurse Practitioners is not made aware of this growing problem. Educating the DNP-FNP on sports concussions with a definition and signs and symptoms is the first step in solving this problem. The DNP-FNP can be a critical partner in identifying and properly treating sports related concussions, as well as educating their communities.
