Abstract
This paper presents a literature review of transactional and transformational leadership theories as well as a review of youth mentoring. Transactional and transformational leadership theories and concepts are then analyzed to doctrine how they could be applied to the field of youth mentoring. The analysis of these theories is then specifically used to provide recommended modifications of the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring model. The recommendations are intended to enhance the outcomes of the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program.
