A study element of this project focused on the collection of data necessary to understand the services and develop information critical influencing policymakers about the future of home based family support services. A demonstration focus of the project identified critical steps in the development of program evaluation tools in the social service field, The tools themselves were used to determine the basis from which this evaluation was conducted. Leadership was demonstrated through program refinement, leadership to government funding sources, and professional leadership in the social service community This Leadership Application Project was undertaken with o commitment to demonstrate the five qualities of the Augsburg Master of Arts in Leadership Program, namely: a vision which is ethically and morally responsible, extending beyond immediate concerns; an understanding of how change occurs and affects the immediate environment; sensitivity to the complex problems organizations face, and on ability to achieve solutions consistent with on organization's mission; the ability to motivate and inspire individuals and groups to work toward o common goal; the ability to effectively represent the organization both internally and externally.' As a result of this project, important learning was revealed for leaders of social services programs.
